Understand what you’re choosing before you build around it.

Private Work Fundamentals helps you understand the deeper ideas behind ownership, property, compensation, agreement, private relationships, and personal authority.

Not so you can memorize language. So you can see your choices more clearly and make them for yourself.

Where the foundation came from

I first learned many of these private-life distinctions through Greg Saunders at Private Life. Private Work Fundamentals is my own course, focused specifically on applying those underlying distinctions to the way entrepreneurs work.

Know where you stand.

Stop beginning with:

  • “What structure should I use?”

Start with: who am I, what is mine, what am I agreeing to, and what am I choosing?

The eight modules

Private Work Fundamentals is an eight-module written course. Each module is read at your own pace, with workbook reflection and application alongside it.

  1. Why Private Business?

Learn why private work starts with comprehension rather than documents, declarations, or structures.

  2. You Come Before the Role

Separate who you are from the titles, roles, legal personas, and entities you may use.

  3. What Is Yours?

Learn to see time, work, knowledge, money, and compensation as property, and understand why the account or processor carrying payment does not by itself tell you what the exchange is.

  4. Private and Public by Choice

Learn to identify direct private relationships, public relationships, and the mixed operations that contain both.

  5. Agreement Is the Heart of Private Business

Understand why agreement carries the substance of the relationship and why the structure should follow what has already been decided.

  6. Freedom Requires Responsibility

Learn the role of responsibility, harm, loss, correction, and peaceful remedy in private conduct.

  7. Fear Is a Terrible Architect

Examine the emotional pressure that often surrounds questions of authority, money, institutions, and autonomy, and learn why fear and anger are poor foundations for design.

  8. Designing with Intention

Bring the earlier distinctions together and test whether you can explain and apply them without relying on preferred terminology.

This is about seeing differently.

Understand before you change anything.

The course brings the focus back to the man or woman behind the work.

You begin asking what you want to agree to, what you want your work to support, what you want to keep and steward yourself, and how you want to serve and live.

The goal isn’t to give you language to repeat. It’s to help you recognise these distinctions in your own work.

Private Work Fundamentals Confirmation

After Module 8, you complete a written Private Work Fundamentals Confirmation.

This is where you explain the central distinctions in your own words and apply them to practical situations.

I read every Confirmation personally.

There’s no automated score. The purpose is to see whether the principles have become usable understanding and to identify anything that still needs clarification before design work begins.

Private Work Fundamentals prepares you to understand the distinctions. Detailed assessment of your actual activity happens later, inside Blueprint and Design, as the Private Business Assessment.

Private Work Fundamentals is not a gate

You don’t need to complete it before working with Privatepreneur.

If you want the deeper education, it’s here.

If what you want is time to explore your own situation with me, request a Private 1:1. If you’re ready to decide how your work should operate, Blueprint and Design may be the better fit.

Begin where it makes sense for you.

If you want another perspective

I also recommend Private Life Foundations, Greg Saunders’ own course at Private Life.

It offers a broader exploration of private life, including business and other areas. The names are similar, so to be clear: that is Greg’s course, and Private Work Fundamentals is mine.

It is not a Privatepreneur offering, and it is not required before working with Privatepreneur or before taking Private Work Fundamentals.

Learn at your own pace. Work with us when you are ready.

Private Work Fundamentals is here for the man or woman who wants more understanding before deciding what comes next.

There is no required sequence.

You can learn first, talk first, or move directly toward design when the facts and your understanding support it.
