Privacy Policy
This policy is reviewed on an ongoing basis.
This policy explains what Privatepreneur collects through privatepreneur.com and what happens to information you choose to provide.
The word “privacy” on this page refers to handling your information. It is separate from Privatepreneur’s use of “private” when discussing working relationships.
What the site collects
Depending on what you use, the site may receive:
- your name and email address;
- Orientation answers;
- Website Alignment Check inputs and the report produced from them;
- Website Design inquiry answers;
- the email address you give to subscribe to The Privatepreneur Letter;
- contact messages;
- account and course-access information;
- basic technical information needed to operate and secure the site;
- minimal privacy-respecting analytics where enabled.
Privatepreneur collects the information needed to provide the pathway or response you requested.
Orientation answers
When you submit your answers at the end of the Orientation, your answers are stored so Kyle can read them and reply.
Submitting your answers does not enroll you in a marketing list.
Website Alignment Check
When you ask for a Website Alignment Check report by email, the name, email address and website address you give are stored, together with the report produced for you and whether the email reached the sending provider. That record exists so the report can be sent and so Kyle can answer if you write back about it. The message is sent through Resend, the email provider acting on Privatepreneur's behalf. Asking for a report does not enroll you in any mailing list. Occasional educational email is a separate choice, offered as an unticked box on the form, and it is recorded only if you tick it.
That record is kept only for as long as it is reasonably needed to provide and support the check, and to honour whatever you chose about educational email. You can ask for it to be removed at any time by writing to the address at the foot of this page.
If you did tick that box, you can withdraw it whenever you like. Every report email carries a link that stops the educational email, with no account and no sign-in, and it applies to every check you have run from the same address. Withdrawing it does not cancel the report you asked for and does not change anything else about your record. It is a separate choice from The Privatepreneur Letter: withdrawing one does not withdraw the other, because they were given separately.
Website Design inquiry
Website Design inquiries are stored through Netlify, the site’s hosting and form provider, so Kyle can review and respond.
Sending an inquiry does not create an agreement, payment, or marketing subscription.
The Privatepreneur Letter
When you subscribe to The Privatepreneur Letter, your email address is stored, together with which part of the site you subscribed from, when you subscribed, and whether you have since unsubscribed. Nothing else is recorded. No name, no company, no phone number, and no record of which letters you opened or which links you followed.
The letters are sent through Resend, the email provider acting on Privatepreneur’s behalf. Your address is used for this letter and nothing else. It is not sold, not shared for anyone else’s use, and not added to any other list.
Every letter carries a link that unsubscribes you, with no account and no sign-in. You can also write to the address at the foot of this page and the subscription will be removed by hand. The record is kept for as long as you are subscribed; once you unsubscribe, a minimal record is kept so that you are not added back by mistake, and you can ask for that to be removed too.
Subscribing is only a subscription. It is not enrollment in the Path, not acceptance of any agreement, and it creates no obligation on either side. If you have used another part of this site, subscribing does not join those records together, and using another part of the site does not subscribe you.
How submitted information is used
Privatepreneur uses submitted information to provide the thing you requested: deliver a report, review an Orientation, answer a question, assess a website inquiry, manage course access, or support an active engagement.
Information is not sold.
It is not used for an unrelated purpose simply because you supplied it for one of these pathways.
Service providers
Privatepreneur uses service providers to operate the site and deliver requested services.
Depending on the pathway, those providers may process limited information on Privatepreneur’s behalf, including hosting, database, form, authentication, and email providers.
Current public flows include Netlify for hosting/forms and Resend for transactional email.
Cookies and analytics
Privatepreneur aims to use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics and does not use advertising trackers.
One functional cookie is set. When you click I Agree on the entrance notice, that acknowledgement is remembered for 30 days so you are not asked again on every visit. It holds only a record that the notice was acknowledged. It carries no name, no email address, no identifier, and nothing that tracks you here or anywhere else, and it is not used for analytics or advertising. Clearing it in your browser simply means the notice appears again.
If that changes, this policy should be updated before the change becomes part of normal site use.
Your choices
You may ask what information you submitted, request a correction, or ask for information to be deleted where Privatepreneur no longer needs to retain it for an active agreement, required record, or operational reason.
