Private Business Foundations

Foundations isn't simply learning how your work is structured. It's understanding the relationship between you, your work, those you serve, and what's grown up around it, before deciding what you want to change. Foundations doesn't tell you what conclusion to reach. It teaches the distinctions that let you tell assumption from requirement, so any decision that follows is actually yours.

Private operation begins with understanding, not paperwork. Foundations helps you see how your operation runs now: who is acting in what capacity, what property and compensation are really involved, and where the work is private, public, or a mix of both.

There are two ways to reach that understanding: confirm education you already have, or take Privatepreneur's own eight-module course. Either way, Foundations ends with the written Foundations Confirmation and a personal response from Kyle.

New here? The free Private Business Orientation is a good place to start thinking, though you are welcome to begin Foundations whenever you want the education.

Foundations Confirmation

No additional course fee

For you, if you've already completed sufficient prior foundational education and can confirm that understanding in your own words. This pathway does not require purchasing or repeating a full course. It asks direct questions designed to confirm real comprehension, not recitation.

Best suited if you've already studied this material elsewhere and can speak to it clearly and independently. See the full Foundations Confirmation explanation.

Foundations Course

$295 one-time

Privatepreneur's original recorded course, for you if you want a complete, grounded education in the distinctions behind private business, whether or not you already know some of the material.

Includes the complete recorded Foundations Course, the written Foundations Confirmation, and Kyle's personal response to what you wrote.

The full $295 Foundations payment is credited toward the Private Business Blueprint when the participant proceeds into Blueprint.

What you can expect to learn

Ten distinctions run through the course. Each one is meant to be applied to your own situation, not memorized as a phrase.

  1. Man or woman versus legal persona. The difference between the living person doing the work and the titles, entities, or accounts used while doing it.
  2. Real versus fictional or created. Which things in your operation are actual people and property, and which are useful constructs built by agreement or by law.
  3. Property, compensation, and how payments are characterized. Examine how time, work, knowledge, money, and compensation relate to property, and how the framework distinguishes private compensation from statutory income.
  4. Private versus public participation. Recognizing when a relationship runs on direct agreement versus standard public infrastructure.
  5. Titles, roles, and entities. Understanding these as tools tied to specific agreements, not as permanent facts about who you are.
  6. Payment and banking containers versus the transaction itself. Why the account a payment moves through doesn't define what the payment was.
  7. Agreements as the core mechanism. Seeing agreement, not documentation, as what shapes a working relationship.
  8. Responsibility, wrong, and peaceful remedy. A grounded way to handle concerns, correction, and disagreement.
  9. Emotional grounding. Recognizing fear, urgency, anger, or attachment to an outcome before it drives a decision.
  10. Understanding a distinction versus repeating preferred language. Being able to apply an idea to your own real situation, not just recite it.

The eight-module course outline

Eight self-paced modules, approximately 90 minutes of recorded instruction in total, taken in order. Each module builds on the one before it.

  1. Why Private Business?

Sets the terms for everything that follows: private business begins with comprehension, not documents or labels.

  2. You Come Before the Business

Separates the living man or woman from the titles, entities, and capacities used in business.

  3. What Is Yours?

Works through what's being offered and received, and why the payment container isn't the relationship.

  4. Private and Public by Choice

Maps where relationships are direct and where public infrastructure is being used.

  5. Agreement Is the Heart of Private Business

Shows why the relationship has to be understood before any document or structure gets chosen.

  6. Freedom Requires Responsibility

Works through responsibility, correction, and peaceful remedy when something goes wrong.

  7. Fear Is a Terrible Architect

Addresses the fear, urgency, and pressure that can quietly take over a business decision.

  8. Designing with Intention

Integrates the course into real scenarios and prepares you for the separate Foundations Confirmation.

How the course is delivered

Foundations is a recorded, self-paced course you complete over eight sequential modules, each building on the one before it. Every module combines an on-camera introduction and closing with a narrated, visual lesson, so you're never working from a slide deck alone. Your progress saves as you go, and after Module 8 the separate written Foundations Confirmation follows.

Alongside the lessons, a guided workbook helps you map the facts of your operation, work through practical scenarios, and note questions you still have. The workbook is a learning tool: the reflection prompts throughout the course are there for your own honest thinking, and stay between you and the page.

The recorded lessons run approximately 90 minutes in total, and the course asks for considerably more than that: the workbook reflection and the written Confirmation both take real, unhurried time. You have 12 months of course access, so there's no need to rush.

Valuable even if you go no further

Enrolling in Foundations does not obligate you to purchase anything else. You can take the course simply to understand your operation more clearly: to be able to name what's being used in it, what's been agreed to, and what could truthfully be chosen differently, independent of any later engagement.

Not proceeding further doesn't mean the course failed you. Some participants complete Foundations and reasonably decide that no immediate change is appropriate. Greater clarity about what should stay exactly as it is can be just as useful as clarity about what to change.

Foundations Confirmation and practitioner review

After completing the eight modules, you'll work through a written Foundations Confirmation: a chance to put the learning into your own words, name what has become clear, raise the questions still open for you, and decide whether you feel grounded enough to consider a next step. Kyle reads every response personally, and anything he writes back speaks to your understanding of the material. See the full explanation on the Foundations Confirmation page.

This course is for you if…

You may already be operating, preparing to begin, or deliberately starting fresh from an existing way of working. What matters is that you want greater freedom, autonomy, and control over the work, and you would rather examine what is already there before changing documents or structures.

It asks a certain willingness of you: to question inherited assumptions, to value responsibility and truthful facts, and to want a grounded educational process rather than a shortcut.

It is not for you if you’re seeking…

A guaranteed tax result, immunity from statutes, licensing, regulation, enforcement, litigation, or claims, or a way to ignore existing obligations.

A ready-made PMA, club, trust, entity, or Supporting Structure; a packet of documents without understanding; a method of concealment; or a certification or special status.

Automatic approval for the Blueprint, immediate relief from an active crisis or dispute, or confirmation of a conclusion you have already reached.

Optional continued pathway

For participants who want to continue, a Confirmed-and-ready outcome opens the next stage: the paid Private Business Blueprint, where detailed discovery and design happen. Continuing is never automatic or assumed; it is a deliberate choice on both sides, made after your comprehension has been confirmed personally. When all approved credit conditions are met, the $295 one-time Foundations Course payment becomes a full credit toward the Blueprint. Either way, the course itself remains useful whether or not you take this next step.

You are never obligated to continue past Foundations. See the complete investment path for what each later stage costs and includes.

Want additional time with Kyle?

A Private 1:1 with Kyle offers optional additional dedicated time for whatever conversation would be most useful to you. It may be scheduled before or after Foundations, but it does not replace Foundations when the requested work requires the complete foundational framework. The standard rate applies until you've entered Blueprint, Implementation, or active Stewardship.
